The modern interpretation of a medieval folly is in part a home/office and castle keep. In architecture, a folly is an extravagant or fanciful building or garden structure which can be seen as a folly (by its owner or by visitors) because of its appearance; usually an eye catcher - purely a point of interest or intrigue.
