The amalgamation of the Penola, Millicent and Beachport Councils into the new Wattle Range Council brought a rationalization of facilities and focus.

The requirement for a strong, eye-catching building on the main approach road to town, meeting the needs of the revised agenda, became the brief for this project.

The holiday, beach and surf experience that is Beachport is reflected in the casual built form that now sits adjacent the caravan park on the coastal road entry to town.
